AGAPE Community Home Repair Fund
Home Pro Elite Property Maintenance is proud to offer Free Emergency Home Repair Services to our at-risk residents. All labor for these projects is donated by our dedicated staff and volunteers, but we still rely on donations to cover the cost of materials and supplies.
This year a GoFundMe was created to help offset those expenses, yet only two people contributed a total of $40.00. We reached out to local churches and contacted the Commonwealth Journal, FOX Lexington, CBS and ABC to help raise awareness of the need, but despite those efforts we did not receive any support or assistance in spreading the word for the need.
This season brought an exceptionally large number of requests for assistance, and it breaks my heart that we are, at this time, unable to fulfill many of them because of insufficient funds. We have prayed for volunteers and financial backing for this vital cause, but as of today no meaningful assistance or public outreach support has been secured. It is painful to report that most of our at-risk residents—particularly many seniors—will not receive help this year.
We see thousands of dollars being directed to organizations supporting children’s toys, coats and other holiday programs, and while we wholeheartedly support those efforts for low-income children, it is disheartening that our appeals for senior assistance went unanswered.
A feature story about someone painting Christmas scenes at local coffee shops received attention, yet our requests to local churches and community groups did not elicit the same response. This reality is upsetting to everyone involved and highlights a desperate need for broader community support.
We will continue to try to answer some of the request already received but there will be a delay and for most no assistance will arrive. The request will be prioritized based upon the emergency need especially for those who have homes that are not livable.

ABOUT:
AGAPE Community Home Repair Fund, Sponsored by Home Pro Elite Property Maintenance is dedicated to helping low-income and senior homeowners in Kentucky, stay safe and comfortable in their homes by providing FREE Basic Emergency Home Repairs.
As colder weather approaches, the need for basic home repairs becomes urgent. Many of our neighbors—especially seniors and those on fixed incomes—are facing challenges like no running water, no hot water, leaking pipes, and homes that aren’t properly winterized. Some requests are for wheelchair ramps or HVAC repairs, and the demand for help is growing every day. Our resources are stretched thin, but the need continues to rise.
What makes our program unique is that every dollar raised goes directly toward purchasing materials for these essential repairs. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff donate their time and expertise, ensuring that all labor is provided at no cost. This means your support has a direct and immediate impact—helping to fix plumbing, provide heat, winterize homes, and build ramps for those who need them most.
Many seniors and even veterans are reluctant to ask for help, often choosing to go without rather than reach out. As a veteran, I live by the motto 'No Man Left Behind,' and I believe this extends to our Kentucky neighbors in need. Every dollar truly counts when someone is without heat or water, and your generosity can make all the difference.
Please join us in keeping our Kentucky low-income and at need neighbors safe this winter. If you can't afford to donate, you can still help by spreading the word by sharing this post.
